 and  's contest. [link]I know I don't stand a chance but... I wanted to try. "The challenge is to design a character based on one of the four elements: fire, water, air and earth." Here's my mother nature/earth. She's not only the pregnant woman, she's also the background. (so... the trees are a part of her.) (mother) Earth grants us life and feeds us. In a way, earth can be called "god" I hope I don't have to explain that the white fruit are egg fruits, that her wings are made of leaves, that her hair forms plants, that she hasn't "real" human legs, and that.... -blabla- But since I'm explaining it, it kinda means I'm lacking confidence, ha-ha. ==" *commit suicide* ------------ "How the idea came out" When I was a child, I believed in power of nature, water spirits and things like that XD (I was a big fan of foreign mythology... and jRPG XD). Now I don't. But I still believe that we should respect nature as if it was something alive or a parent... because we are a part of the nature. (I sound like a native american. I kinda like native americans' ideology) Thanks for all your comments and fav anyway, it makes me very happy. hey, I loved the draw! the art in general is simple, and that`s turned the job verry pretty! ^^ and her expresion is so lovely...^^ -- *We're the eggs of the Chicken that fled*  Amazing work, Kanza
 And really few things to criticize. The main one is the sun (its a sun. no?) in the background At first sight its confusing and one dont know if its a sun or another thing (maybe this can be due to the white lines, etc...which I think they are some kind of "liquefied" clouds). Maybe you can try to define it more, to make the composition more homogeneous and according to the main lineart (as a suggestion, you can try making a sun like these old circular decoration patterns )The second thing is that one dont know where the body of that girl ends, or which position she have (in the case of the torso), but at the same time its interesting because its means a fusion between the girl and the earth (which I think it was your main purpose/representation to draw )Other than that is a beautiful work, the colours are very warm and nice, and...and I wish you good luck in that contest!  -- Seize the day!   It is amazing. It looks somewhat relistic then somewhat fictional. Great blend.

(C'est vraiment le genre de colo que je pourrai jamais faire xD) --  Now you're a heroYou managed to beat the whole damn ga-ame  I rather like how it came out atcually. The paper texture and the way the colors spill together give it a watercolor look in my opinion. I personally would make her items and details stand out a touch more. The line art does look like you spent a decent time on them.
 I think a bigger picture would be great. The picture is so very, very beautiful, and the colors are very nice. The coloring is perfect for this one. Just one thing that bothers me, the two white fruits on the tree. They seem a bit out of place. The character in the middle is very beautiful and I love how she blends to the plants. Very nice work.
La colo est super simple en fait, encore plus simple que d'habitude ^^
Le seul truc c'est que dans mon brouillon, j'ai appliqué des textures (pour la première fois de ma vie ! Sur Deep south j'avais utilisé que des brushs). Ensuite j'ai fait ma couleur au "propre", qui est encore très crade, mais je l'aime bien comme ça. J'ai laissé les textures au dessus, pendant que je faisais ma colo, pour penser aux variations de couleurs toussa :3 Mais parfois je planquais les calques textures <3 /me devrait faire un step by step Conclusion : Textures ftw >3 |
